India fast bowler Mohammad Shami out of Afghanistan test because he has failed to clear the fitness test in Bengaluru..BCCI confirmed on Monday (11th June) also the replacement of Shami will be Delhi seamer Navdeep Saini.
Saini had impressed very much in 2017-18 Ranji season,he has picked 34 wickets in 8 matches,also was called up to bowl to Indian batsman in nets when they were touring South Africa.
Shami at 27 had many issues with his fitness throughout his cricketing career..Earlier this year he had played all three test matches against South Africa and ended up taking 15 wickets..He had expected to play a vital role for India when they will be going to tour overseas against England and Australia later this year.
Sanju Samson failed to clear the fitness test for India A
Apart from Shami, Kerala batsman Sanju Samson also suffered a blow because he wont be able to pass the fitness test..He was removed from the India A squad for the One Day series in England..He had failed to clear the yo-yo fitness test..He has been replaced by 19 year old wicket keeper batsman Ishan Kishan.
A report in the Mumbai Mirror has claimed that Samson has failed to clear the yo-yo fitness test which has become necessity for selection in the Indian squads..Apart from Samson some high profile players of India also failed yo-yo fitness test in past names like Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina and young all-rounder Washington Sundar have also failed to pass the test,failed to clear the basic mark 16.1 earlier this year. Suresh Raina and Sundar then went to clear the test to earn a spot in the limited overs team.
